One of the most admired and hated superstars in the WWE is John Cena. He struggled to be successful in the Stamford promotion. It was Cena’s personality that set him apart from the other wrestlers. But when his career got off, his rival wrestlers became quite envious of him. Rene Dupree, a former WWE star, claimed that Bob Holly hated John Cena because of the latter’s success in the company.
In the past, bullying was a frequent occurrence in pro wrestling. Some WWE stars, like John Cena, had a spotty reputation for being bullies, while others were saints.
Hardcore One of the last remaining traditional wrestlers, Holly was known for engaging in backstage hazing. John Cena was one of the many wrestlers Bob Holly hated, even though he wasn’t one of his victims.
Rene Dupree Says Bob Holly Hated John Cena for His Success
Dupree claims that Hardcore Holly lost it as John Cena walked past her in the locker area. Being considered one of Vince McMahon‘s top men, John Cena apparently offended Holly.
Rene Dupree remembered a time when Holly yelled at him for making Cena seem good in the ring during an appearance on his Cafe de Rene shows. Bob Holly and Dupree used to travel together to concerts at the time.
After the match, Cena walks by while we are in the locker room, and Bob exclaims, “I hate that motherf**ker.” Why do you suppose he disliked him? Considering that he was aware that the new guy was pushing him. You understand that he was envious. He would yell at me while we rode together, “Why [are] are you making Cena look good?” Why do you give him such a lot? Because he was aware that I was Vince’s [McMahon] new person, he would holler at me.

John Cena succeeded in rising to become the face of WWE in the following years despite Holly’s enviousness. Bob Holly was an old-timer, that should be emphasized. Therefore, it is logical to assume that the Hardcore legend did not take Holly’s promotion of younger talents very well based on Dupree’s accusations against Holly.
In contrast to Cena, who did not endure bullying from Bob, Dupree was the target of hard strikes from Holly in the ring.

Hardcore Holly Once Punished Rene Dupree Over a Speeding Ticket
Jim Ross remembered the incident in which Bob Holly was furious at Rene Dupree for borrowing the former’s rental car and receiving a speeding ticket on the Grilling JR podcast. The penalty had an impact on Holly’s insurance and motivated him to avenge Dupree in the ring. Holly has a notoriously low tolerance for foolishness.
Rene Dupree was disciplined by Bob Holly during a house show in 2004 by being given some hard shots.JR said that Holly was attempting to correct Dupree. It’s important to note that JR did not reprimand Holly for his behavior.
