As one of the greatest players in NBA history, Karl Malone is widely regarded. He scored points nightly while playing alongside John Stockton for the Utah Jazz for 20 years. He is currently third all-time in regular season scoring after LeBron James and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
The Jazz icon, though, doesn’t have a very good reputation off the court. This is due to the fact that, when he was 20 years old, he once impregnated Gloria Bell, a 13-year-old girl. Given that Bell was a kid when this occurred, this is a crime all over the United States.
Malone would evade punishment, but Gloria’s grandparents took him to court. Karl was required to pay them $200 per week in child support. Again, The Mailman refused to pay them the $125 a week that was required of him despite being compelled to do so.

Demetress Bell Growing up Without Karl Malone
Many years after the incident occurred, somewhere between 1988 and 1989, Karl Malone finally reached an out-of-court settlement with the Bells for an undisclosed sum of money. As an affluent NBA star, Malone would carry on with his life while Gloria and her grandparents were burdened with rearing Demetress.
Demetress has claimed that he was raised completely by his mother and that he had no touch with his biological father while he was a child. After being selected by the Buffalo Bills and spending one season with the Eagles, Bell would really go on to do quite a bit for himself. He played in the NFL for five seasons.
Demetress did go on to say that he reconciled with his father in 2014, and by 2018, they had started talking frequently. Unfortunately, this doesn’t change the fact that Karl allegedly told Demetress, then 17, that it was too late for him to be his son’s father.
Four of Karl Malone’s seven children, Kay Kinsey’s, and two, Bonita Ford, his high school sweetheart, are his biological offspring. When he was only 17 years old, he had Daryl and Cheryl with Ford, but he didn’t want to be involved in their life until they were also 17 years old.
