The 60th edition of the Irani Cup will be held in India’s domestic circuit to conclude the current men’s domestic season. The one-off game will take place at Gwalior, which will host a first-class match for the first time in six years, between Madhya Pradesh and the rest of India.
It is important to note that the 2022–23 Indian domestic season was always intended to include a few matches for the Irani Cup in order to avoid any confusion.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was postponed for the 2020–21 season. As a result, the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) made the decision to give Irani Cup matches to both the 2020–21 and 2021–22 Ranji Trophy champions.
At the beginning of this season, the Rest of India (the Ranji champions of the 2020–21 season) faced Saurashtra (the Ranji champions of the 2021–22 season), but now it’s Madhya Pradesh’s turn.
Today, ROI, who defeated Saurashtra in Rajkot five months ago while Hanuma Vihari served as captain, will be captained by Mayank Agarwal, who has scored the most runs in the Ranji Trophy since 2203. Under Agarwal, famous players such as Abhimanyu Easwaran, Yashavi Jaiswal, Baba Indrajith, Yash Dhull, Navdeep Saini, and Chetan Sakariya will compete.

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy and the West Indies tour of South Africa in 2023 will both be broadcast on Star, and they have designated a single channel called Star Sports Select 1/1 HD for the Irani Cup in 2023.
