
NEW DELHI: The Royal Challengers Bangalore spent Rs 7 crore on Friday to fill all 25 spots on their roster, having arrived at the IPL 2023 mini-auction with seven spots still open. At the end of the auction in Kochi, RCB had Rs 8.75 crore in their wallet but only Rs 1.75 crore was awarded.
The right-handed hitter from England, Will Jacks, cost RCB Rs 3.2 crore, making him their most expensive auction purchase. At the auction, RCB spent more than a crore for Jack’s countryman, the English pacer Reece Topley, who sold for Rs 1.9 crore.
In order to fill out their roster, RCB purchased five Indian players without international experience at the auction.
