Sam Curran earned £1.85 million from the Indian Premier League mini-auction after being recruited by the Punjab Kings. Curran was crowned the tournament’s most valuable player during England’s triumphant T20 World Cup run.
After a stellar performance in the previous T20 World Cup, England’s all-rounder Sam Curran was recruited by the Punjab Kings for £1.85 million, making him the most expensive player in IPL history.
Curran took 13 wickets at an average of 11.38 to earn tournament MVP honours and help England win their second straight World Cup. The 24-year-old has become an England death-overs specialist, but he can bowl at any stage of the game.
The quality of his all-around play has increased greatly over the years, and he is now a legitimate T20 batsman. Curran, who was purchased for $1.85 million (18.5 crore), is now the most expensive player in IPL history, surpassing former South African all-rounder Chris Morris.
