Another dismal season for the Los Angeles Lakers is currently underway. The 2-10 start to the 2022–2023 season and Anthony Davis’ extended absence due to injury make Darvin Ham’s club one of the weakest in the Western Conference. But the California-based team’s recent 5-game winning streak stunned everyone.
LeBron James in particular made a significant contribution to the team’s first 5-game winning streak since the conclusion of the 2020–21 season, even if the majority of the Lakers kept to their respective duties and performed an outstanding job at it.
LBJ was selected as the Western Conference Player of the Week for Week #12 after packing the stat sheet in numerous games throughout the previous week.

Shannon Sharpe Defends Le Bron James for Sitting out Against the Nuggets
Bron Embarked on This Amazing Scoring Spree After Turning 38. Following a Near Triple-Double of 47 Points, 10 Rebounds, and 9 Assists in Lal’s Victory Over Atlanta, the King Went on To Compile 35/8.7/7.7 While Guiding the Purple & Gold to A 3-0 record.
The four-time champion was declared ineligible for the game against the No. 1 Denver Nuggets after a fairly exhausting week. Bron was listed out with a painful left ankle, and the 2020 champions went on to lose 122-109 without him.

Shannon Sharpe defended the 18-time All-Star who was criticized by Skip Bayless for taking a break in the face of the current MVP. The 6-foot-9 forward deserves a day off after a week like he just had, according to the former NFL standout. Sharpe continued:
Nothing to worry about. Pain in the ankle. The thing is, they’ll air this out of caution, but he gets an additional two to three days of rest. He played on Saturday night, thus he was off on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. He will play again on Thursday against the Mavericks.
He was Player of the Week, didn’t you know? averaged 35, 9, and 8 and is currently averaging 29 8, 7 for the season. No big thing at all, give the man some time to recover. Do you remember what he did this past weekend? See what he done to the Hawks, don’t you? See what he done to the Kings, don’t you?
The Lakers 5-game win streak ends as LeBron sits out due to ankle soreness:
It s no big deal. They re going to be cautious and give him 2-3 days of extra rest. You saw what he did against Atlanta, Sacramento. Let the man rest! @ShannonSharpe pic.twitter.com/HP3b8N3hqo

LeBron’s Performance in Year 20
The previous week demonstrated that LeBron cannot be stopped. Even the notorious Father Time has been unable to accomplish this. Bron is still playing far better than many superstars who are in their 20s at the age of 38.
The future Hall-Of-Famer has played 31 games in his 20th NBA season and averaged a mind-boggling 29.1 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per contest.
With the Lakers ranked 12th in the crowded West, things appear awful. The LA team, though, is only 1.5 games behind the 6th seed. With the four-time MVP performing at such a high level, it cannot be ruled out that the Los Angeles Lakers would attempt to win the 2023 championship.
