Honor has introduced the Earbuds 5e in China, alongside the X80 Pro Max smartphone. The new wireless earbuds bring adaptive noise cancellation, high-resolution audio support, and AI-powered features.
Design and audio specs
The Earbuds 5e adopt a semi-in-ear design with a stem, weighing just 4 grams per earbud. They carry an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.

Inside, a 12mm dynamic driver with a diamond-like carbon diaphragm aims to reduce distortion.
The earbuds support the LHDC 5.0 codec and are Hi-Res Audio certified for 24-bit audio transmission.
Adaptive ANC and call quality
The adaptive active noise cancellation adjusts to the environment automatically.
It can reduce noise by up to 52dB at peak, with an average reduction of 28dB across frequencies.

For calls, each earbud houses three microphones that use AI algorithms to filter background noise. Wind suppression works at wind speeds up to 6m/s.
Battery life and charging
With ANC off, the earbuds deliver up to nine hours of playback. The 550mAh USB-C charging case extends total battery life to 45 hours.
When ANC is on, playback drops to 5.5 hours for the buds and 28 hours total. A 10-minute fast charge provides about three hours of listening time.

Software features
Advanced features require a compatible Honor smartphone.
These include an AI translation tool supporting 15 languages and a meeting assistant that transcribes and translates recordings.
Standard controls include touch and swipe gestures, wear detection for auto-pause, and dual-device connectivity to link a phone and computer simultaneously.
Pricing and availability
The Honor Earbuds 5e come in Moonlight White and Midnight Black. Pre-orders are live in China, with regular sales starting June 26.

Early buyers can purchase them at an introductory price of 299 yuan ($44). After the promotion, the regular price will be 349 yuan ($52).
