Police found Tay dead in a Nashville apartment on Thursday after conducting a welfare check.
According to law enforcement, a friend requested the check after growing concerned when Tay could not be reached.
Building staff helped officers enter the apartment, where they discovered his body.
The medical examiner will perform an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
Tay Keith was 29 years old.
