Xreal has officially introduced Aura, its first smart glasses powered by Android XR, at AWE 2026. The device had been teased for months under the name Project Aura.

Aura runs on Google's Android XR platform with Gemini integration and is driven by Qualcomm's new Snapdragon Reality Elite chipset.

It also includes Xreal's X1S coprocessor for spatial computing and rendering on the optical see-through display.

The glasses feature a 70-degree field of view and Sony Micro-OLED panels with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels per eye and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.

Electrochromic dimming allows users to darken the lenses when focusing on digital content.

Hand tracking serves as the primary interaction method, supported by front-facing cameras that enable six degrees of freedom tracking and gesture controls.

Unlike fully standalone AR glasses, Aura relies on an external compute puck that houses the Snapdragon Reality Elite processor and a 4,455mAh battery.

The puck will be available with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.

Xreal is preparing a broad ecosystem of games, productivity tools, and immersive experiences, including titles such as Fallout: Factions, Demeo, and Cubism.

Xreal has confirmed that the base model will cost less than $1,500, but the final retail price and a specific launch date have not been announced.
