The original G305 relied on a disposable AA battery, making it heavier than many current mice.
The G305 X Superlight switches to a built-in rechargeable battery, dropping the total weight to 59 grams.
Logitech uses exposed screws on the exterior, a design choice meant to simplify opening and repairing the mouse, potentially extending its lifespan.
Inside, the mouse features a newer HERO sensor supporting up to 44,000 DPI, over 40G acceleration, and 678 inches per second tracking.

The standard polling rate is 1,000Hz via the included USB-A receiver.
For lower input latency, users can purchase Logitech's PRO Wireless Receiver separately, which enables 8,000Hz polling.
The G305 X Superlight offers three connectivity modes: Logitech's 2.4GHz Lightspeed wireless, Bluetooth, and wired USB-C.
Battery life is rated at approximately 130 hours of continuous use on a full charge.
