Samsung's upcoming foldable lineup is generating buzz with fresh leaks suggesting the company is prioritizing user feedback over radical redesigns.

According to a report from TechManiacs, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and a new Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide could bring significant improvements in battery life, thickness, and display aspect ratio.

Thinner and lighter design

The standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 is rumored to measure 4.1mm when unfolded, slightly thinner than the Z Fold 7's 4.2mm.

Weight may drop to around 210 grams, down from 215 grams on the current model.

These changes aim to make the device less bulky, especially as competitors like Honor and Huawei have been pushing slimmer foldables.

Battery and charging upgrades

Battery capacity could see a meaningful jump to 5,000mAh, up from 4,400mAh on the Z Fold 7.

Faster 45W charging is also tipped, addressing a long-standing complaint from users about endurance.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide: A new form factor

The more intriguing leak involves the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, which may feature a 7.6-inch inner display with a near-square 4:3 aspect ratio.

This design would feel more like a small tablet when opened, moving away from the tall, narrow shape Samsung has used for years.

To accommodate the wider screen, Samsung might drop the telephoto camera in favor of a simpler dual 50MP setup.

The saved space could go toward a 4,800mAh battery, roughly 400mAh larger than the 8.0-inch Galaxy Z Fold 7.

If these leaks prove accurate, the Fold 8 series will focus on catching up in areas users actually care about rather than introducing flashy new features.

The regular Fold 8 is reportedly getting thinner again, measuring around 4.1mm when unfolded, down slightly from the Z Fold 7's 4.2mm thickness.

Weight is also said to drop to roughly 210 grams, compared to 215 grams on the current model.

Together, these changes should make the phone feel a bit less bulky in everyday use.

Samsung foldables have improved steadily in this area, but Chinese brands like Honor and Huawei have been moving much faster lately, so the pressure is clearly there.

Battery life may finally see a meaningful upgrade too.

The Fold 8 was previously tipped to jump from the Fold 7's 4,400mAh battery to a larger 5,000mAh unit, along with faster 45W charging.

That may not sound huge on paper, but Fold users have been asking for better battery endurance for a long time.
