A new leak from Xiaomi's HyperOS software hints the company is working on a foldable phone with a widescreen design, similar to recent efforts by Huawei and Apple.

The wider form factor is said to improve usability whether the device is folded or unfolded.

Xiaomi reportedly skipped a direct successor to the 2024 Mix Fold 4, but is now developing a new foldable with a broader screen.

Enthusiasts have overlaid leaked UI images onto renders of Huawei's Pura X Max, and the fit appears convincing, though not confirmed.

The device is referred to by several possible names, including Xiaomi Mix Fold 5, Xiaomi 18 Fold, and Xiaomi 17 Fold.

Expected Specifications

Early reports mention a triple-camera setup co-developed with Leica, potentially led by a 200MP primary sensor.

Power is expected to come from Xiaomi's in-house Xring O3 chipset, highlighting the company's push for internal technology development.
