Xiaomi has added the Mijia Desk Lamp 2 Clear Vision Edition to its smart home lineup. The lamp will go on sale on September 22nd through JD.

The design centers on a 60cm horizontal light bar that projects light forward instead of downward.
This approach is intended to illuminate the desk without causing glare on a laptop or monitor screen.
Because the light bar is suspended horizontally, the base occupies less room. That leaves more space for a keyboard, mouse, or paperwork.
The lamp head sits on a hinge that tilts 25 degrees forward and backward. Xiaomi says the hinge has been tested for 10,000 adjustments.
Brightness and Color Accuracy
Inside the light bar are 112 LEDs. Xiaomi has increased brightness compared to the standard Mijia Desk Lamp 2.
The central 500 by 300mm working area now outputs a minimum of 1,000 lux, up from the previous 756 lux.
The wider 700 by 500mm zone reaches 550 lux.
Light uniformity is rated at 1.7 in the center and 3.1 overall.
These figures mean the lamp meets China's GB/T 9473-2022 AA-level standards for desk lighting.
Xiaomi also highlights the color accuracy of the LEDs.
The lamp has a Ra97 color rendering index and an R9 value over 90, which helps colors look more natural and accurate on physical items.
To help reduce eye strain, the lamp is TÜV Süd certified, carries an RG0 rating for zero blue-light hazard, and does not produce visible flicker.
Controls include a standard touch panel on the base. The lamp also connects to the Mijia app and HyperOS ecosystem for remote control and voice commands.
Users can adjust color temperature between 2700K and 5100K or choose from six presets, such as Reading or Computer modes.
A built-in focus timer pulses a breathing light to signal when it is time to take a break.
Work intervals can be set anywhere from 1 to 90 minutes.
