Newly obtained video reveals more details of Brian Hickerson's arrest at Barney's Beanery in West Hollywood in August 2025.
The footage shows Hickerson, Hayden Panettiere's boyfriend, lying under a table with his shoes off before police arrived.
Officers helped him to his feet and handcuffed him.
At that moment, he forcefully spat to his left, with the spit heading toward one of the officers.
It is unclear if he intended to spit at anyone or was just clearing his mouth.
Another officer holding Hickerson appeared to say tense words to him.
Hickerson was taken outside and arrested, marking his first of two arrests in Los Angeles that month.
He later attended 10 Narcotics Anonymous meetings, and the case against him was dismissed.
However, his behavior reportedly continued, as three bars in South Carolina had banned him in the months before Panettiere's death.
Hickerson was with Panettiere on August 16 when she was found unresponsive.
He attempted to revive her with Narcan, but she could not be resuscitated.
