Huawei is preparing a China-specific version of its MatePad Air tablet, and it will reportedly feature an OLED display.
The leak comes from Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station, who claims the China model will keep the 12-inch screen size but switch from IPS LCD to OLED.

The panel is said to offer 2.8K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate.
The tablet is expected to maintain the same slim 5.3mm profile and 509-gram weight as the global version, along with a 10,100mAh battery.
Under the hood, it will be powered by a Kirin T93 series chip, an upgraded version of the Kirin T93C found in the international model.

This move aligns with the global MatePad Air, which already adopted OLED, making a similar China release unsurprising.
The leak does not confirm pricing, the exact chip variant, or a launch date, though September appears likely.

The tipster also indicated that Huawei is working on the second-generation MatePad Mini, which is reportedly getting the OLED upgrade as well.
Huawei has not confirmed the Mini's release timing, but the leak suggests it is further along than previously thought.
Overall, the leak points to Huawei standardizing OLED across more of its tablet lineup, not just the Pro series.
