Xiaomi has introduced the Mijia Mini Twin-Tub Washer-Dryer 5kg in China, priced at 3,499 yuan (about $520).

The appliance is designed to wash different types of clothes simultaneously without mixing them, addressing a common household need.
Dual-Drum Design and Capacity
Instead of a single drum, the machine splits its 5kg washing capacity into two independent 2.5kg tubs.
Each drum can dry up to 1.5kg, giving a total drying capacity of 3kg.
This setup allows users to wash baby clothes in one drum and adult clothes in the other, or keep delicates separate from heavier fabrics.
To ensure loads stay separated, the machine uses independent water and drying channels for each tub, preventing cross-contamination.

Inside, a direct-drive motor delivers a maximum spin speed of 1,200rpm, and the drums measure 255mm in diameter.
Smart Features and Convenience
The washer includes two separate 150ml auto-dosing dispensers that calculate the required detergent for each load, reducing residue.
Xiaomi claims a full dispenser can last about a month under typical use.
A self-cleaning system helps prevent blockages over time, and the machine offers 34 wash programs for specific stains like coffee, mud, and makeup.

There is a 40-minute quick wash-and-dry cycle for small items, and a 40°C low-temperature drying mode for silk that uses sensors to stop when dry.
If clothes are left overnight, a ventilation system circulates fresh air to limit odors.
The machine also features a 95°C high-temperature drum-cleaning mode and claims a 99.99% removal rate for bacteria and viruses.
Like other Mijia devices, it connects to the Mi Home app and HyperOS system, supporting voice controls and over-the-air updates.
The unit measures 598 x 574 x 478mm, fitting into standard 600mm-deep cabinets.

It weighs 41kg and can be placed on the floor, on a counter, or stacked on a front-loading washer.
