The Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 has surfaced on Geekbench for the first time, but the results are underwhelming.
The chip appeared in an unannounced iQOO 16 prototype with model number V2606A.

On Geekbench 6.7, it scored 3,434 in single-core and 9,334 in multi-core tests.
These numbers trail the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which scored 3,649 and 10,682 in the same tests.
Record-breaking clock speed
Despite the low scores, the chip boasts a 5.01GHz clock speed on its two prime cores.

This makes it the first smartphone SoC to reach desktop-level clock speeds.
The three performance cores run at 4.03GHz, while the three efficiency cores are clocked at 3.74GHz.
Graphics are handled by the new Adreno 850 GPU.
The chip is built on TSMC's 2nm N2P process and uses a 2+3+3 core configuration.

It is identified as SM8975 in the benchmark, matching previous leaks.
The low Geekbench score may be due to early engineering sample software.
The same chip recently scored over 4.8 million on AnTuTu, suggesting strong potential.
