Lesley Vogel, mother of the late Hayden Panettiere, says she went completely numb after learning of her daughter's death and still struggles to accept that she is gone.
In an interview with ABC News' Rhiannon Ally that aired on 'Good Morning America,' Vogel recalled the moment she found out Hayden died of a suspected overdose in Greenville, South Carolina.

"I was just numb. I just couldn't feel anything.
I still am not grasping this is real. It just doesn't, it doesn't feel real.
My mind tells me it's not, at times. You know, it's going to be a process," she said.
Vogel wants her daughter to be remembered as a talented, beautiful, outgoing, and intelligent woman.

She also fired back at criticism from Gayle King and Megyn Kelly, who slammed her for focusing on Hayden's life struggles after her death.
"I would say to the haters out there, you don't have a right to tell me how I mourn the loss of my second child," Vogel responded.
The relationship between Hayden and her mother was not always good.
In a May interview, Hayden described it as "tough" and left the door open to improve things, but it never happened.

In response, Vogel told Page Six she decided not to contact her daughter while following professional advice.
Hayden was found unresponsive by her boyfriend Brian Hickerson's brother, Zach, inside an Airbnb earlier this month.
Zach called 911 while Brian administered Narcan, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The federal Drug Enforcement Administration has joined the investigation, along with the Greenville PD and the coroner's office.

Hayden's cause and manner of death are pending toxicology results.
