A fundraiser launched for surrogate McKenna West is approaching $80,000 in donations, providing financial relief as she navigates a contentious legal battle over the baby she recently gave birth to.

The GiveSendGo campaign, started by West's friend Ellen Fisher, aims to cover legal fees, travel expenses, living costs, and care for West's two children.

The fund has a goal of $100,000.

According to the fundraiser, West faced a difficult decision after doctors diagnosed the baby with hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS).

Fisher claims West was advised to have an abortion and feared financial repercussions if she refused.

West ultimately chose not to terminate the pregnancy and gave birth to Baby Gabriel in Texas last week.

Fisher says West's brother offered support, even suggesting the family could adopt the child if needed.

The fundraiser states that West connected with attorneys and traveled to Texas, where the case escalated into a multi-state legal dispute over the pregnancy and the newborn.

West's attorney, Lincoln Wilson, has separately alleged that the biological parents stopped financial support after requesting a termination.

The couple disputes this account, saying West initially agreed to terminate before changing her mind.

The campaign highlights that West has lost expected surrogacy payments and may be liable for reimbursing surrogacy-related expenses.

It notes she has relocated, taken time off work, and continues to support her children.

The case has drawn national attention as courts weigh competing claims over the surrogacy agreement, medical decisions, and parental rights.

West continues to fight through her legal team.

For now, the fundraiser offers a way for supporters to contribute as the legal battle proceeds, with the ultimate goal of ensuring Baby Gabriel receives necessary medical care.
