James Haven is opening up about the emotional phone call with his father, Jon Voight, after he came out as gay.
In an interview on "All Out With Jon Dean," published Wednesday, the former actor admitted he had been avoiding the conversation.

Haven said his father called him multiple times before he finally answered.
When they spoke, Jon told him, "I finally know who you are," leading to what James described as a "really nice chat."

The phone call came after TMZ reported that James had come out as gay during a live stream with his ex-wife, Romi Imbelli, on her Substack.

During that stream, James read a letter explaining that he lacked the vocabulary to express his feelings when he was younger.
He also expressed hope that his family would "choose love over fear, understanding over judgment and connection over the beliefs that may have kept us apart."

It seems his father did just that in their phone call.
