A recent leak suggests the upcoming Honor Magic 9 may feature a unique square selfie camera and a powerful 200MP main shooter.
Tipster Digital Chat Station claims Honor is testing several new camera sensors for the Magic 9, including two different 200MP main sensor options: the OV52A/OV52B at 1/1.28-inch and the larger OVB0D at 1/1.12-inch.

These sensors are being evaluated as possible primary cameras for the final device.
The rear camera setup also includes a 64MP periscope telephoto lens using the OmniVision OV64D sensor with a 1/2-inch format.
This isn't the first time the OV64D has been linked to the Magic 9; an earlier leak from the same source also pointed to this sensor for telephoto duties.

Square selfie camera
The most intriguing claim concerns the front camera. The Magic 9 is reportedly being tested with a 100MP OVA0B sensor measuring 1/1.8 inches.
However, the final output will be cropped into a 1:1 square aspect ratio, effectively reducing resolution but producing a distinctly square selfie image.

Beyond cameras, earlier reports suggest the Magic 9 series may include a compact 6.36-inch OLED display, a large battery around 8,000mAh, and testing with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 platform.
It is also expected to offer IP68/IP69 protection and ultrasonic fingerprint scanning.
There is also mention that ARRI may collaborate with Honor to improve video processing and cinematic output on the Magic 9 lineup.
