Sony has launched the BRAVIA Theatre Trio, a high-end home audio system designed to deliver an immersive cinema-style experience without the need for multiple wired speakers.
The system was unveiled during Sony's 2026 home entertainment event and sits near the top of the company's current audio lineup.

Instead of a traditional multi-speaker surround setup, it relies on spatial audio processing and virtual speaker technologies to create a wider sound field.

At the heart of the BRAVIA Theatre Trio is Sony's 360 Spatial Sound Mapping, which generates multiple virtual speakers around the room to simulate expansive surround sound.
The new version, called 360 Smart Dome Sound Field 3.0, was developed in collaboration with professional audio mixing studios.

A notable addition is the Cinema Enhancement Mode, which recreates both direct sound and the reflected audio effect typical of actual movie theaters.

The system includes three wireless speaker units and a dedicated center channel. Optional upgrades include SW9 subwoofers and RS9 rear speakers for a more complete surround setup.

Pricing is premium: the BRAVIA Theatre Trio alone costs 14,990 yuan (~€1,900) in China, while the fully upgraded package approaches 30,000 yuan.
