Oppo has officially raised the bar for battery capacity in mid-range smartphones with the launch of the Oppo A7 Pro Max 5G in China.
Debuting as the brand's first phone to sport a massive 10,000mAh Glacier Battery, Oppo has timed this launch right before Xiaomi unveils its highly anticipated competitor, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G.

While Redmi prepares for the official launch in China and global markets, the specifications of the global edition of the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max have already leaked via official-looking promo material.
The Chinese variant of the Note 17 Pro Max is expected to share identical core specifications with its global counterpart, barring a potentially larger battery capacity for the Chinese market.
Design and Build
The Oppo A7 Pro Max measures 162.98 x 77.97 x 8.57 mm and weighs between 224g and 226g.
It features toughened Crystal Shield glass and IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K dust and water resistance ratings.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max is slightly larger at 163.44 x 78.27 x 8.65 mm and weighs 229.5g.
It utilizes Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and offers the same quad-level IP certifications, along with 3-meter drop resistance.
Both smartphones push the boundaries of durability with complete IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, ensuring top-tier resistance against immersion, hot water jets, and dust.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max takes structural resilience a step further with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and certified 3-meter drop resistance.
Despite housing massive batteries, both devices keep thickness around 8.57 mm.
However, Oppo edges out slightly in weight, keeping its package a few grams lighter despite packing a bigger cell.
