OnePlus is preparing to launch its next flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 16, in the coming months.
A new leak from tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) offers details on the device's design and launch timeline.
Design and display
The OnePlus 16 prototype reportedly continues the brand's existing design language rather than introducing a major overhaul.
It is said to feature a 6.78-inch flat display with ultra-narrow, symmetrical bezels made possible by LIPO packaging technology.
Previous reports indicate the bezels will measure less than 1mm, and the display may support a 185Hz refresh rate.
Performance and battery
Under the hood, the OnePlus 16 is expected to be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset.
The tipster also suggested the device will pack a battery of around 9,000mAh, supporting 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.
Camera system
On the rear, the phone is expected to retain a compact square camera module similar to the OnePlus 15.
Reports indicate a major camera upgrade, including a new 200-megapixel primary sensor, accompanied by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera.
Software and launch
The OnePlus 16 is expected to be the company's first phone to come preloaded with ColorOS 17 based on Android 17.
According to DCS, the device is currently scheduled to launch in October.
When asked about the iQOO 16, a close rival, the tipster noted that it could also launch in October, as the late September window is already crowded.
