A new leak has surfaced online, offering an early look at the Honor Robot Phone's packaging and its unique gimbal camera system.
The unboxing video, posted on Weibo, shows the phone's box contents before the official launch.
In the footage, the phone is placed on the left side of the box, while the right side features the slogan “Your First Robot Phone.”
The back of the device sports a large rectangular camera module, with the main camera and robotic arm gimbal on the left, and the secondary camera and flash on the right.
Sliding the lens cover triggers the robotic arm to unfold automatically in 0.8 seconds, accompanied by a custom animation on the screen.
When folded, the arm sits flush with the body, ensuring it doesn't interfere with normal grip.
Once deployed, the gimbal handles 360-degree rotation tracking, automatic composition, and subject tracking.
For stabilization, the phone combines three-axis optical stabilization, a 4DoF gimbal, a dedicated coprocessor, and AI algorithms, achieving CIPA 5.5-level performance.
Honor previously demonstrated the camera's capabilities at the Shanghai International Film Festival, where it captured cinematic portraits of jury members.
With preorders already open and the unboxing leak circulating, the August launch appears imminent.
