Xiaomi has officially confirmed that a new version of HyperOS is on the way, bringing a major change under the hood.
The announcement was made during the company's Q1 2026 earnings call.

During the call, Xiaomi reported total revenue of 99.1 billion yuan and an adjusted net profit of 6.1 billion yuan.
The company also noted that it has been among the top three smartphone brands globally for 23 consecutive quarters in terms of shipments.
Xiaomi's smartphone business is moving further into the premium segment.
The global average selling price of its smartphones increased by 8.2% year-on-year, reaching a new record high.

In mainland China, high-end smartphones now account for 23.5% of Xiaomi's total smartphone sales.
AI Takes Center Stage in HyperOS 4
Lu Weibing, President of Xiaomi, stated that the company will continue its high-end and global expansion strategies.
He highlighted artificial intelligence as a major focus for future smartphone plans.
Lu described AI as the biggest growth opportunity for the smartphone industry.
He emphasized that Xiaomi is determined to reshape its phone business around AI, and the merger of “AI” and “miclaw” this year will be an important milestone.

Miclaw is Xiaomi's autonomous AI assistant for smartphones. It can carry out tasks across apps and system features.
Lu confirmed that Xiaomi will release a “new generation” of operating system in either July or August this year.
While he did not directly mention the name, it is widely expected to be HyperOS 4.
According to earlier information, Xiaomi's next-generation system may replace parts of its current framework with a self-developed native architecture.

At the same time, Xiaomi is expected to keep native Android services for now to avoid app compatibility problems.
