Vivo has quietly launched its new entry-level smartphone, the Y05e, which is now listed for purchase on Vodacom South Africa's website.

The device had previously appeared on multiple certification platforms, signaling its imminent arrival.

The Vivo Y05e sports a 6.74-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution (1600 x 720 pixels). It runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16.

Powering the device is a 5,150mAh battery, which Vivo claims can retain its health for up to four years.

The phone comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, expandable to 8GB via virtual RAM.

While the chipset is not confirmed on the listing, the Google Play Console previously spotted the Unisoc T606.

The rear camera is an 8-megapixel sensor with LED flash, and the front houses a 5-megapixel selfie camera.

The Y05e carries an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, along with military-grade drop resistance. It measures 167.3 x 76.95mm and weighs 199 grams.

The Vivo Y05e is listed in a Green color option with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, priced at R2,499 (~$150).
