Melissa Schuman, the woman accusing Nick Carter of sexual assault, says she fears harassment from the pop star's fans as their legal battle continues.
Schuman has filed new court documents asking a judge to allow her to submit medical records under seal.

In her filing, she claims she has been the target of a campaign of harassment, threats, doxxing, and intimidation since coming forward with her allegations against Carter.
She says her home address has been leaked, anonymous mail sent to her residence, and messages encouraging self-harm have been received.
She also alleges coordinated efforts to intimidate and discredit her.

Schuman additionally wants the transcript of her deposition sealed. A judge has not yet ruled on these requests.
Carter has previously claimed that Schuman's alleged false statements about sexual assault caused him harm.
In his lawsuit against Schuman, he said her actions were “intentional, malicious, oppressive and designed” to damage his career.
His lawyers argue that Schuman's “plot to smear” his image—part of an alleged effort to extort a settlement—has substantially damaged his ability to earn a living.

Carter also claims the allegations caused his wife and young children emotional distress.
Schuman sued Carter over an alleged 2003 sexual assault in Los Angeles. Carter denies the assault, which he says occurred in his Santa Monica apartment, and has countersued.
Recently, Carter filed declarations from alleged witnesses who claim they saw nothing on the night in question. Schuman maintains her account.
