Edifier has introduced the S260, a desktop speaker that merges retro aesthetics with contemporary wireless technology.
The speaker is now available in China at a price of 1,059 yuan, approximately $156.

The S260 features a cabinet made from medium-density fiberboard (MDF) to minimize acoustic resonance. It includes an 18mm thick front baffle and a woven grille.
On top, a CNC-machined aluminum control panel houses mechanical toggle switches and metal knobs for volume and playback control.
The unit weighs 4.07kg and comes in Black Walnut, Pearl White, and Warm Brown.
Inside, the speaker uses a 4-inch aluminum diaphragm mid-bass driver and two 25-core titanium dome tweeters.

The tweeters can reach frequencies up to 40kHz, while the woofer handles bass down to 50Hz.
Dual Texas Instruments TAS5805 digital amplifiers deliver 65W RMS output with a peak of 130W.
Edifier claims a distortion level of 0.03% and a signal-to-noise ratio of 107dB(A), with audio processing managed by a built-in DSP chip.
Connectivity is a strong point.

The S260 supports Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Audio Wireless certifications, along with the LDAC codec for high-resolution Bluetooth streaming up to 990kbps.
It also includes Apple AirPlay 2 over 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi.
Bluetooth 5.4 enables dual-device pairing, allowing simultaneous connection to a phone and computer with easy switching.
Wired options include an AUX analog input and a USB sound card input, suitable for PCs or turntables.

The speaker comes with a small remote control and is compatible with Edifier's mobile app for EQ adjustments, input switching, and firmware updates.
