Crews were hard at work Sunday morning cleaning the Reflecting Pool near the Lincoln Memorial after the massive Fourth of July celebration in Washington, D.

The pool was littered with ash and other remnants left behind from the fireworks display and the enormous crowds that packed the National Mall.

Workers used long-handled tools and nets to scoop debris from the water, while others worked along the edges to restore the pool to its signature color.

The annual Fourth of July celebration draws hundreds of thousands of visitors, and while the fireworks last only minutes, the cleanup operation stretches well into the next day.

The Reflecting Pool recently underwent a $16 million renovation chosen by President Trump, aiming for an "American Flag Blue" appearance.

The monument has also been in headlines due to alleged vandalism. Former Olympian David Hearn was arrested after touching a partially detached piece of pool liner.

Hearn's legal team told TMZ the charges are "outrageous" and reflect an effort to shift blame for the administration's own failures.
