Casio has unveiled the GBX-H5600KI-5, the newest addition to its G-LIDE series and the fourth signature model developed with professional surfer Kanoa Igarashi.
The watch is now available for pre-order in Japan at ¥50,600 (approximately $314), with shipping expected to begin later this month.

Fitness tracking meets ocean readiness
The GBX-H5600KI-5 is not a standard digital watch but a dedicated fitness tracker housed in a traditional G-Shock chassis.
It features an optical heart rate sensor and a 3-axis accelerometer.
Casio continues its partnership with Polar, using the fitness company's algorithms to process training data, cardio load, and sleep recovery metrics.
The watch supports multi-sport tracking for running and walking, measuring pace, distance, and stride.

Its software is heavily geared toward ocean use. The watch displays moon phases, sunrise and sunset times, and a tide graph.
Users can configure tide settings for approximately 3,300 global locations by pairing the watch with the Casio Watches smartphone app via Bluetooth.
The app also handles automatic time adjustments, phone notifications, and activity log syncing.
The display uses a Memory-in-Pixel (MIP) LCD, which maintains high contrast and readability in direct sunlight without draining the battery.
The bezel and band are made from bio-based resin, with brown mixed-color molding inspired by the coastal cliffs of Ericeira, Portugal, where Igarashi trains.

Purple accents appear on the watch face. Because the resin is mixed during manufacturing, each unit's physical pattern varies slightly.
The watch weighs 47 grams and retains 200-meter water resistance and shock resistance, standard for the brand.
Battery life depends on sensor usage. With continuous heart rate tracking, the watch runs for up to 35 hours.
With the heart rate monitor off and in watch mode, it lasts about a month.

It charges via a proprietary USB Type-A cable and includes built-in solar charging to maintain battery level during outdoor exposure.
