A new leak suggests Xiaomi's sub-brand Redmi may be preparing a phone with an unusually large 7-inch display.

The information comes from tipster Digital Chat Station, who claims the brand is developing two devices for its next generation.

One model is a standard 6.59-inch screen in the mid-range Pro segment. The other is built around a massive 7-inch panel intended for heavy performance use.

Although the tipster did not name the brand directly, their past leaks have often been linked to Redmi devices.

This is not the first time such a device has surfaced in rumors. In February, the same source hinted that two companies were testing 7-inch phones.

In early April, a leak suggested Redmi was working on a 7-inch display paired with a 10,000mAh battery.

By late April, more details emerged, including support for 2K resolution and a high refresh rate, aligning with an earlier report on a Redmi K100 series device tipped with a 7-inch 2K screen.

Redmi is not the only brand exploring larger screens.

The same tipster recently claimed that Honor is also developing a 7-inch phone with a 185Hz refresh rate, alongside a separate 6.89-inch model built on a 2nm chip.

For context, most current flagships—including the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max, and iPhone 17 Pro Max—top out around 6.9 inches.

If these leaks hold, 2026 could see screen sizes push well past that mark.
