Xiaomi was widely expected to roll out Android 17 with a new HyperOS 4 skin, but leaked internal firmware files suggest a different plan.
The Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra have been spotted running an unreleased HyperOS 3.3 firmware version based on Android 17, according to tipster Ximitime.

Internal Builds Reveal HyperOS 3.3
The firmware versions are OS3.0.330.11. XPCCNXM for the Xiaomi 17 and OS3.0.330.8.
XPACNXM for the Xiaomi 17 Ultra.

These are engineering builds not intended for public release, but they indicate Xiaomi may be testing HyperOS 3.3 behind the scenes.
Notably, the builds make no mention of HyperOS 4, which many had anticipated alongside Android 17.

Official Release Timeline
The next major HyperOS version based on Android 17 has been officially confirmed for release in July or August.
Official teasers in the coming weeks should clarify whether it will be HyperOS 3.3 or HyperOS 4.0.
