An 11-year-old boy in Thailand allegedly drove a pickup truck into a crowd of Buddhist monks, killing nine people, according to the BBC citing local police.
The incident occurred on a road in Thailand's Mukdahan province.

Video of the crash shows the truck plowing through the group, sending several monks in robes into the air.
Police Major General Pairoj Thaiphutsa told the BBC that five monks died at the scene, while four others succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.

The suspect is a child with special needs, authorities said. Officials are still determining what action to take.
The child is being cared for by his doctor and guardians.

Police reported that the child's guardians were not home when the truck was taken, but they reported it missing upon their return.
The child does not attend school because he is "unwell," according to the BBC.

Eight monks remain hospitalized, three in critical condition. Mukdahan Hospital has appealed for urgent blood donations to help save them.
