Today was the Dallas Mavericks’ final regular-season game. The Dallas Mavericks’ misery that had befallen them since the All-Star break continued as they faced the San Antonio Spurs. Today, the Mavs chose to rest Luka Doncic because they were no longer in the running for the playoffs or a play-in game. The Spurs visited Dallas and defeated the Mavs 139-117 without Doncic.
The Mavericks lost 15 of their final 20 games to end the season with this defeat. They were able to retain their Top-10 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft thanks to the tank job going into the off-season. Additionally, Kyrie Irving will be a free agent this off-season. During the season’s final news conference, Luka Doncic addressed the media.
He addressed trade speculations, discussed recruiting Kyrie for the upcoming season, and much more.

Will Kyrie Irving Re-Sign with The Mavs?
Knowing that Doncic is content in Dallas, Mark Cuban can now unwind a little. He will work to keep his other star in Dallas. It will be more difficult for Cuban than he anticipated to convince Kyrie to return. Kyrie remained committed to moving to Los Angeles and joining LeBron James and the Lakers even after the trade deadline.
Due to D Angelo Russell’s impending free agency, the Lakers may have their pick of point guards this offseason. Cuban will also want to entice Irving with a good carrot in order to keep him playing alongside Luka and increase his chances of success.
