Israel Adesanya, a former UFC champion, and controversial social media celebrity Andrew Tate both have experience fighting. Both of them began their journeys with competitive kickboxing. Afterward, Adesanya became one of the biggest UFC stars.
In the meantime, Andrew Tate became well-known on social media. He has become one of the most popular Google searches in recent years. The Last Stylebender, though, once claimed that during his kickboxing days, he was unaware of Andrew Tate, alias Cobra.
Yet, after Tate’s videos went viral online, the UFC star commended his marketing approach. Check out the former UFC middleweight champion’s assessment of Tate.
What Did Israel Adesanya Say About Andrew Tate?
Andrew Tate has drawn fire for his divisive remarks toward women. Tate was thus blocked from a number of social media sites. Cobra was able to keep up a significant social media presence despite the ban.
Adesanya was very impressed by it. The Last Stylebender commended Tate in an interview with MirrorFighting. He claimed, “He (Tate) hired others to post about him online or create pages about him.” If he developed that marketing approach, it was a brilliant move since it put him on everyone’s radar. I didn’t really keep up with his kickboxing career. I’m not sure what he’s doing right now.
Adesanya also brought up Tate’s encounter with prominent UFC figures like Sean O’Malley and Aljamain Sterling, which drew harsh criticism. The UFC fighter, though, believed that everyone should feel free to hang out with anyone.
Israel Adesanya also concurred that he liked the brazen speaking style. He declared, “I appreciate style and I like bravado.” Jordan Peterson, in contrast to Andrew Tate, I believe, conveys the message more effectively.
Tate and his brothers were detained in Romania last year on accusations of participating in human trafficking and money laundering. He was eventually freed, though, after almost three months since the prosecution has not yet presented solid evidence against him.
But, because of the ongoing investigation, Cobra and his brother are still being held under house arrest. Tate doesn’t seem to have passed his toughest tests yet, at least not yet. Adesanya, a star of the UFC, is currently preparing for a significant challenge in his MMA career.
Adesanya Prepares for His Rematch with Alex Pereira
Adesanya appeared unbeatable over time in the promotion’s middleweight division. Nearly every major contender on the roster had been vanquished by him. Yet in the UFC, his past with Glory Kickboxing came back to haunt him.
A Brazilian mixed martial artist named Alex Pereira found his way to the UFC. He is the only combatant to have twice defeated Adesanya in kickboxing. And Pereira followed suit for their UFC bout the previous year.
In the fifth round, Poatan knocked out Adesanya to claim victory and become the new champion. They will now square off once more this weekend in Miami at UFC 287. What The Last Stylebender changed in his arsenal for the rematch will be intriguing to observe.
