Two key contributors to Georgia’s defense this season, Jalen Carter and Kelee Ringo, didn’t waste time discussing their plans for 2023 following the Bulldogs’ 65-7 thrashing of TCU on Monday.
Carter announced on Twitter less than three hours after the game that he will be entering the NFL draught.
Many people expect the 6-foot-3, 300-pound junior from Apopka, Florida, to be selected in the first five overall.
He finished his Bulldogs career with 32 tackles, 7 for losses, 3 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. In addition to his three sacks from the previous year, he was a key member of a defensive line that held TCU to just one touchdown, five sacks, and 36 yards rushing on Monday.
“My desire since infancy has been to play in the NFL and without my mother, this would not be possible,” Carter stated. To have someone like her on my side is a tremendous boon.
After the game, Ringo said in the locker room that he will “most likely” enter the draught.
Ringo, who stands at 6 feet 2 inches and weighs 210 pounds, was asked if he felt his game was ready for the next level.

“Yeah, sir, yes sir, one hundred percent,” Ringo affirmed.
In addition to his 42 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 7 pass breakups, Ringo had a great season. This two-year starting quarterback is anticipated to go in the first round of the NFL draught, and he had the pick six that clinched the title over Alabama in 2017.
As of this past Monday, Pro Football Focus had Ringo ranked as the fourth-best starting safety this season in terms of pass coverage.
West Virginia transfer defensive back Tykee Smith has stated that he plans to consult with his loved ones before making a declaration.

High school seniors have until Jan. 16 to register for the draught, but underclassmen have until Jan. 16.
