In his class of 2023, Bronny James has made a name for himself as one of the best high school basketball players. The country analyzes what kind of player he actually is as his time at Sierra Canyon comes to an end and he is ready to choose which institution to attend for the 2023–24 season.
In some elements of his game, he resembles his father, LeBron James, but there are also some variances. Both their game intelligence and their bounce are egregious parallels. Bronny, like his father in the early 2000s, has a sufficient bounce to take part in dunk competitions.
It’s clear from the 18-year-old’s passing vision that he has a feel for the game and clearly inherited it from his father. The SC senior’s 3-ball game has significantly improved over the years; he is now a knockout shooter from beyond the arc.
Bronny James Gets the Gary Harris Comp
Simply because of the draft comparison they received prior to entering the NBA, players frequently find themselves pigeonholed into a specific role once they arrive in the league. Bronny James hasn’t quite arrived at this stage, but the fact that he plays in 3D shouldn’t detract from his advancement in other facets of his games.
John Hollinger recently disclosed that, in terms of playing style, he thinks Bronny is similar to Gary Harris. Gary was an explosive player off the dribble who could stride back beyond the arc and make jumpers in addition to holding his own on the defensive end of the court before suffering an injury.
After his injury, he lost a step or two and developed into a reliable three-point shooter, hitting 43.1% of his attempts, the highest percentage of his career. However, because of this resemblance, NBA Twitter users are divided over what James’ potential as a player, with many stating that the best-case scenario would be for him to develop into a Jrue Holiday-like player.
“As a prospect, he reminds me a lot of Gary Harris.”

Where Will Bronny James Go to College?
Bronny James had offers from schools like Duke and Kentucky when he was still in middle school to play for their collegiate squad when he was eligible. Universities like Oregon, Ohio State, and USC have emerged as potential schools for him now that he is eligible.
According to recruiting analysts, USC has emerged as one of the favorites to land him. Given that he is from Ohio and that LeBron James would have chosen Ohio State if he had gone to college, becoming a Buckeye has also drawn a lot of attention.
