It would appear at first that a new T20 league is starting, but in fact, this is the third concurrently taking place event of its kind. The number will increase even more when two additional such leagues start playing individually in a week or so.
Let’s focus on the ninth season of the Bangladesh Premier League for the time being, which will start in a few hours. Each team will play the other twice, home and away, for a total of 42 league matches over the seven-team, 42-day competition.
The BPL 2023 calendar has been created in a way that every league day will have two games, with long breaks in between. There will be a total of four knockout matches contested during the final five days of this season, from February 12 to 16.
