Michael Ovitz, co-founder of Creative Artists Agency (CAA), abruptly left a deposition when questioned about his association with Jeffrey Epstein.
The move came during a legal proceeding related to a lawsuit filed by actress Julia Ormond.
Ormond sued CAA, Harvey Weinstein, Miramax, and Disney in 2023 under New York's Adult Survivors Act.
She alleges CAA knew of Weinstein's history of sexual misconduct yet arranged a dinner meeting with him in December 1995, which she says led to an assault.
Ormond's legal team secured a court order requiring Ovitz to appear for a deposition. However, when questions shifted from Weinstein to Epstein, Ovitz refused to answer.
He stated, "I'm not going to discuss anything about Jeffrey Epstein. You can ask all the questions you want — you're going to get no answers."
He then declared he was "done with this" and left the building.
Ormond's attorneys are now seeking to hold Ovitz in contempt and have him arrested to ensure the deposition is completed.
Emails released in the Epstein Files suggest Ovitz and Epstein knew each other, with mentions of meetings in St. Barts.
Ovitz was more willing to discuss Weinstein, whom he described as a "bully."
He claimed he did not get along with Weinstein due to differing business methods and said he had no knowledge of sexual misconduct allegations against him until they became public in 2017.
