Timex has introduced a new analog chronograph watch, the Expedition Sierra (model TW2Y89300), now available in the US market.
Priced at $179, this battery-powered quartz timepiece offers standard timekeeping and stopwatch functions without smart features.
Design and Build
The watch features a 43mm brass case with a brushed silver finish, measuring 12.5mm thick and 52mm lug-to-lug.
Its mineral crystal protects the dial, a common choice at this price point, offering basic scratch resistance.
The tan dial uses Arabic numerals, a date window, and three sub-dials at 12, 9, and 6 o'clock for the chronograph.
Luminescent hands and markers aid low-light reading, while the yellow central second hand adds contrast.
Movement and Features
Powered by an SR920SW battery, the quartz movement drives the stopwatch via two pushers flanking the crown.
Water resistance is rated at 100 meters, suitable for swimming and snorkeling but not scuba diving.
Timex advises against pressing the chronograph buttons while the watch is wet.
The watch comes with a 20mm tan fabric strap and buckle, fitting wrists from 5.9 to 8.1 inches.
