The Xiaomi 18 series may not debut together this year.

A tip from Digital Chat Station suggests the standard Xiaomi 18 will arrive in December, later than its Pro siblings.

This would be a departure from Xiaomi's usual practice of launching all flagship models at the same event.

The company has already adopted a staggered approach with the Redmi K100 Pro series.

Spacing out releases gives each phone its own spotlight, avoiding competition for attention on the same day.

Xiaomi 18 Pro Expected in September

The Xiaomi 18 Pro is expected to launch in September, following Qualcomm's Snapdragon Summit scheduled for September 22-24.

The event will officially unveil the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6.

Reports indicate Xiaomi will launch the 18 Pro phones with this chip on September 28 or 29.

The entire Xiaomi 18 series is tipped to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, built on TSMC's 2nm process.

This should offer a significant boost in performance and battery efficiency.

The standard Xiaomi 18 is expected to come in five colors: black, white, pink, blue, and red.

The camera setup is a major change for the standard model. It may drop the 50MP triple-camera system for a 200MP dual-camera setup tuned with Leica.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro will retain its rear display and add new features, including a built-in compass, quick access to WeChat payment code, and a one-tap food delivery pickup code.

Pricing for the Xiaomi 18 Pro is said to start at 5,499 yuan, about 1,000 yuan more than last year, likely due to the 2nm chip and upgraded camera.

These details are not official, so treat them as estimates until Xiaomi confirms.
