Perez Hilton is reportedly doing better after a disturbing live stream incident, with his family now confirming he is able to speak.
In a statement released Wednesday, the blogger's family said, "We can confirm that Perez is able to communicate, which has given our family hope."
They also expressed gratitude to those who sent "prayers, kind messages, and support for Perez," adding, "Your compassionate humanity during this profoundly heartbreaking time has meant more than words can express."
The family acknowledged the "incredibly difficult and emotional" period they are going through but said they "remain hopeful" about Perez's condition.
They have asked the public to continue praying for his recovery and promised to provide updates as more information becomes available.
As previously reported by law enforcement sources, Perez began cutting himself with a knife during a livestream Tuesday night and was subsequently rushed to a hospital for psychiatric evaluation.
