Boxing star Rolly Romero has joined Conor McGregor in swearing off sex, revealing he hasn't been intimate in over a year.
"I haven't had sex since June 4, 2025. Over a year.
I gave up sex till marriage," Romero told TMZ at an event in Los Angeles.
His motivation is religious, not performance-based. "My body reserved for my wife, that the Lord Jesus will deliver to me," he added.
Romero is preparing to defend his title against Teofimo Lopez on August 22 in Las Vegas.
Lopez, however, takes a different approach. "I partake.
And then I'll probably hold off for the last two weeks," he said.
Romero won the title by upsetting Ryan Garcia last year. Lopez is coming off a loss to Shakur Stevenson and aims to reclaim a belt.
The stakes are high, and both fighters have engaged in trash talk. Lopez recently trolled Romero over an alleged foot fetish.
With about 40 days until the fight, the anticipation builds for this high-profile clash.
