TCL's FFALCON brand has introduced the Thunderobot Q5AD YYDS Edition, a budget gaming monitor aimed at competitive PC shooter enthusiasts.
Priced at 599 yuan (approximately $88), the 24.5-inch display offers a 300Hz refresh rate and 1080p resolution.
The monitor features a Fast IPS panel from CSOT, running natively at 280Hz but overclockable to 300Hz via DisplayPort.
It boasts a 1ms gray-to-gray response time and includes overdrive and motion blur reduction settings for clear fast-moving images.
Color performance is solid for the price, with 10-bit color (8-bit + FRC), 99% sRGB coverage, and 93% DCI-P3.
Factory calibration ensures a Delta E of less than 2. Peak brightness reaches 400 nits with basic HDR400 support.
The stand has a hexagonal base to save desk space for large mousepads, but only offers tilt adjustment (-5° to 15°).
The display uses hardware-level low blue light filtering and DC dimming to reduce eye strain.
It supports AMD FreeSync Premium and is compatible with Nvidia G-Sync. Additional gaming features include a dark scene booster and dynamic crosshair.
Ports include one DisplayPort 1.4 (required for 300Hz), one HDMI 2.0 (limited to 240Hz), and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Settings are controlled via a five-way joystick on the back.
