Former NBA guard Chris Carr is beaming with pride after his son, Cameron, was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA draft.
Speaking to TMZ Sports at LAX on Friday, Carr said it's a 'dream come true' to see his 21-year-old son, a Baylor standout, get picked at No. 24.
Carr, who played for the Suns and Timberwolves, is excited that Cameron is joining a historic franchise but stressed that the real work begins now.
When asked if he wants Cameron to win the Slam Dunk Contest — Carr famously finished second to Kobe Bryant in 1997 — he said that would be nice, but the priority is securing a role on the team.
Carr revealed that the journey started when Cameron was just 2½ years old, accompanying him to the gym.
He's been sharing his knowledge ever since.
He also shared that Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves have already reached out to welcome Cameron, and hinted that his son hasn't beaten him in one-on-one yet.
